Il Libro dei Canoni è il riferimento normativo che regola l’azione della Chiesa e delle sue componenti. Questo documento viene elaborato dal Primate con la collaborazione dell’intero Sinodo e viene controfirmato dal Presidente del Tribunale Ecclesiastico in funzione di cancelliere.
Il Libro contiene, nella versione attuale, 474 Canoni che sono norme che definiscono le linee guida per l’azione della Chiesa e dei suoi clerici e componenti laiche.
Il Libro dei Canoni è proprio della Chiesa Anglicana non solo per il suo caratteristico nome ma soprattutto perché è dinamico, cioè viene frequentemente modificato e aggiornato esattamente come suggerisce la teologia anglicana che suggerisce di adattare costantemente l’azione della Chiesa al mutare dei tempi e dei luoghi.

I 19 capitoli prevedono ogni importante norma e nei casi dubbi interviene direttamente il Primate o il Tribunale Ecclesiastico a dirimere ogni incertezza.
